Winter
attempted, but failed, to prevent our getting together. We enjoyed
two great pianos, a Steinweg-Grotrian upright and a Pleyel grand. Interesting to experience playing on a different generation of instruments.
We had an unusual number of pieces from relatively unknown women composers, a nice bit of variety.
And the winning composer this week goes to the group of unknown women composers who deserve to be better known. I'll add one more late romantic female composer name to that list: Cécile Chaminade.
