Jackie

When Jackie was 9 years of age, she began taking piano lessons at her all-girl Catholic school in Montreal. She enjoyed it until the age of 12, when she became increasingly terrified of performing at the school’s annual piano recitals, to the point where she completely gave up playing altogether.

Over the next several decades, Jackie graduated High School, and University. She was married and had 3 children. Her career as Certified Translator kept her busy until she retired and relocated to Ottawa in 2009. Jackie’s husband encouraged her to start taking piano lessons again.

The encouragement worked - Jackie took the plunge and purchased a piano. She did some research and selected a piano teacher in Kanata. In October 2015, she began her lessons. Then, one day, Jackie went to the Steinway Piano Store to purchase some sheet music and the sales person strongly suggested she join the Ottawa Piano Group to ease her fear of performing. Jackie joined our group in January 2017.

She loves the Group and its members. “The members of the Ottawa Piano Group are warm, non-judgemental, and passionate about music.”

“Thank you, Ottawa Piano Group, for bringing music back into my life!”
